Next Ford Fusion Hybrid to boast 48mpg city?

The folks at Ford Inside News say they have privileged information suggesting the next-gen 2013 model year Fusion Hybrid will be sporting an EPA city rating as high as 47 to 48 mpg, a six to seven mpg jump over the current model???s rating. The change will come from a combination of tweaks across the board mostly due to the switch from nickel to lithium-ion batteries.

The Ford Story: North American C-MAX Update

Good news from the Ford camp, and plenty of it: The production capacity of the electrified vehicle lineup is going to triple through 2013 - to more than 100,000 annually - including higher volumes of the new C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid, vehicles that already have quite a buzz.
