Many of us can remember a time, seemingly not that long ago, when wearing a seatbelt was optional, and maybe people even mocked you for clicking yourself in. A friend recalled how when she and her sister would travel with their dad in his sports car, she would sit on her sister's lap in the front passenger seat. Funnily enough, he worked for an automaker, so her family was one of the first on the block to enforce seatbelt usage. Talk about your mixed messages.

New Ford Ranger becomes first pickup to earn Five-Star Euro NCAP rating

2012 Ford Ranger crash test

Add another reason to lament the fact that the all-new Ford Ranger will not be sold in the United States: It's safe.

Ford says that en route to earning the maximum five-star Euro NCAP rating, the 2012 Ranger earned the best score ever awarded to a pickup truck and the best Euro NCAP rating of any vehicle ever tested for pedestrian protection.

A one-of-a-kind 2012 Mustang, customized by a Ford designer, hits the auction block

On Saturday, October 15, a very unique 2012 Mustang will be on the block at a live auction during the Get Your Heart Racing benefit on the Ford test track at the Dearborn Development Center in Michigan. The one-of-a-kind Boss 302 Laguna Sega is painted in the same School Bus Yellow color you motorsports fans will know from the Boss 302 that Parnelli Jones drove to victory in the 1970 Trans-Am Championship. But you might say this car has a bit more heart.

Ford Reportedly Working on Super 'Stang

When Chevrolet announced that its new top of the line Camaro ZL1 would be powered by a 580 hp supercharged V8, putting it at the top of the American muscle car heap, it was a shot across the bow of the Ford Mustang.

The Mustang Shelby GT500 is the current powerhouse of pony cars, its 5.4-liter supercharged V8 pumping out a now less impressive 550 hp. Rumors have been floating around that an even more potent version was in the works for 2013, but details have been scarce. Until now.
