Ford creates 850 HP 2013 Shelby GT500 Cobra

Automotive legend Carroll Shelby died earlier this year. Shelby was most known for his work with Ford for special editions of the Mustang and as the creator for the race winning Shelby Cobra sports cars from the 60s. Ford recently created a special one-of-a-kind 850 hp 2013 Shelby GT 500 Cobra as a tribute to Shelby.

The car was constructed by the "Friends of Carroll Shelby" to commemorate the life and the Mustang legacy Shelby left behind. The car has a special Ford Racing supercharged V-8 engine, a Shelby American wide-body kit, and is painted in guardsman blue with Wimbledon…

Vaughn Gittin Jr. reveals 2013 Mustang RTR

Last year Formula Drift star Vaughn Gittin Jr. let us go for a quick drive in his 2011 Mustang RTR, and while we were impressed with the styling and price, the harsh suspension tuning and lack of performance options left us wanting. Gittin must have taken our review to heart, as he unveiled the 2013 Mustang RTR today with a new adjustable suspension setup and up to 624 horsepower with an optional supercharger system.

It has a top speed of over 200 mph and, according to the TeamShelby.com report, can reach 60 mph in first gear.

As Nascar heads into Sunday's Daytona 500, its kickoff extravaganza, fans, team owners, and racing executives are hyping a return of the big-time manufacturer rivalry for the first time in years-Ford versus Chevy, a rivalry older than Nascar itself…
