The new Tourneo Commercial Van


Ford Motor Co. has released details about a new commercial van that the automaker says gives passengers a more luxurious car-like experience.

It's part of Ford's push to grow its lucrative line of commercial vehicles.

The Tourneo Custom concept, a light-duty, front-wheel-drive, passenger van, will be available in Europe and Asia. It's one of five global platforms the automaker is rolling out that include the Fusion, Fiesta, Focus and Ranger, though the Ranger will not be available in North America.

The automaker plans to debut it at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Ford Focus Titanium to get Manual Transmission

Ford Motor says it's getting enough comments from dealers and customers and even auto writers (but who takes them seriously, after all) that it has just begun offering a manual transmission in the high-end version of the Focus, called Titanium.

Dealers can order the manual now, but probably won't have much of an inventory until mid-March.

Price is the same as for the dry-clutch automatic standard in the Titanium: $22,995 (including shipping) and up. Usually automakers charge $800 to $1,200 less for a manual.  Learn more...

Ford marks turnaround juncture with new slogan

(Reuters) - A history of Ford Motor Co (F.N) could be told with the succession of slogans it has used over the decades - some remembered within the company as rallying cries, some more as punch lines.

Now, six years into a comeback from near collapse, the automaker has a new slogan that underscores confidence that its recovery is almost complete: "Go Further."

For an automaker with 166,000 workers worldwide and a history of riding boom into bust, the slogan is intended in part as a warning against complacency after three years of profits, executives say.
